Sample itinerary for Montréal & Québec winter yrips

DAY 1

  • Start off with an orientation walk through charming Old Montreal with your tour leader to see Place Jacques Cartier, City Hall, Marché Bonsecours, the Old Port, Notre Dame Basilica and more.
  • Learn about the roots of Montreal’s rich heritage at the Archaeological Museum of Pointe-à-Callière.
  • Put your Canadian skills to the test this evening as you go ice skating with some good tunes in Montreal’s Old Port.

DAY 2

  • Explore Montreal with a local guide to see city views, both old and new, trendy neighborhoods, world class universities, urban art, and theatres.
  • Practice your French during some free time in Montreal's famous Underground City.
  • Local graffiti artists are going to show you how to (legally!) create your own urban masterpieces.
  • Head to the top of the world’s tallest inclined tower, followed by a tour Montreal's Olympic Stadium.
  • All aboard! Next stop: Quebec City.
  • Visit Le Village Huron to learn more about the First Nations ways of life, past, present and future.

DAY 3

  • Tour Québec with a local guide to see the Plains of Abraham, Parliament, Grande-Allée, the Château Frontenac, and more.
  • Travel back in time to witness the great battles of Quebec City through a sound and light show at the Musée du Fort.
  • Head out to the Beaupré Coast! Visit the Ste-Anne de Beaupré shrine, the Montmorency Falls, and enjoy a delicious poutine for lunch along the way.
  • Drive your own dogsledding team as you and your friends go cruising through the maple groves.
  • Feast and dance during your authentic French Canadian sugar shack experience.

DAY 4

  • Head out for a snowshoe excursion through the forests north of Québec City.
  • Try out all of the fun rides at the Galeries de la Capitale’s indoor amusement park!
  • See how guests stay warm in the themed suites of the Hotel de Glace de Québec on a guided tour.
  • Try out all of the fun snow slides at the Village Vacances Valcartier.

DAY 5

  • Learn about the beginnings of French civilization in North America on an orientation walk of the Lower Town with your tour leader.
  • Head to the Musée de la Civilisation to explore Quebec from many different angles: pop culture, politics, science and more.
  • Take in the charm of Old Quebec during some free time to explore around the Old Walled City with your friends!
