SERVICE-LEARNING TRIPS TO COSTA RICA

DAY 1

• Catch your flight to San José, capital of magnificent Costa Rica. Meet with your tour leader at the airport and hit the road towards the Pacific Coast.  
• Arrive in Jacó, where you'll be spending the night. 

DAY 2

• Visit one of the country's most beautiful parks, Manuel Antonio National Park, where you'll discover incredible flora and fauna, and bathe on its magnificent beaches.
• Meet with your host families in Herradura and follow them for a discovery of the village that welcomes you for your community stay.

DAYS 3 to 6

• Meet your local coordinator who will give you details on your missions. The missions are defined according to the needs of the community to help solve a collective need, such as the construction of a road, agricultural activities,  and more. Every morning of your stay will be devoted to your community mission.
• It is a total immersion experience! Learn about the routines, values and traditions of the community while practicing your Spanish like never before!
• To complete your experience, every afternoon will be devoted to a cultural discovery, such as visiting a local farm, trekking, fishing, cooking, participating in a craft workshop, or going for a swim in a nearby hot spring (a must!).

DAY 7

• It's already time to say goodbye! Thank your hosting families before leaving the village.
• Head on a guided tour of the Cloudbridge Forest, a private reserve where monkeys, hummingbirds and breathtaking views await.
• Upon arrival in San José, stop by a local craft market to fill up on souvenirs for your friends and families.

DAY 8

• Say Adios to Costa Rica as you take off aboard your flight home. Until next time!
