Sample itinerary for Spanish New York & Montreal trips

Day 1

  • Meet with your tour leader and begin with an introduction to the history of the Spanish language in North America.
  • Discover Spanish culture with a hands-on mask making workshop at El Taller Latino Americano.
  • Act like a local and take the NYC subway to Midtown Manhattan.
  • If you can walk, you can salsa! Bust a couple of new moves at your salsa workshop.

Day 2

  • Tour Spanish Harlem with a local guide to discover its greatest hits, including a stop at East Harlem's La Marqueta, a local market selling everything delicious!
  • Learn about the history of Central America on your tour of El Museo del Barrio located on New York's world-famous 5th Avenue. 
  • Take a stroll through Central Park to spot out some of its highlights, such as the Bethesda Fountain, Strawberry Fields, the Pond, or the Alice in Wonderland statue.
  • We dare you to taste something new during tonight's Mexican cuisine dinner.
  • Admire New York by night from the Top of the Rock Observation Deck on the 70th floor of the Rockefeller Center.

Day 3

  • Hop on a boat in direction of the Ellis Island Immigration Museum to discover the stories behind the millions of immigrants who transited through New York from 1892 to 1954.
  • All aboard your motor coach! It's time to make way to your next destination: Montreal!
  • Settle in at your hotel for a good night's rest. Your journey continues tomorrow!

Day 4

  • Graffiti art is huge in Montreal, so it's only fitting that you begin your visit  with a graffiti workshop where local artists will show you how to (legally!) create your own urban masterpieces.
  • Head on an orientation walk through charming Old Montreal with your tour leader to see Place Jacques Cartier, City Hall, Marché Bonsecours, the Old Port, Notre Dame Basilica and more.
  • Enjoy a bike tour along the gorgeous Lachine Canal, a scenic 13.5 kilometer-long urban park.
  • Let the rhythm (and professional musicians) guide you during your hands-on Latin American percussion workshop.

Day 5

  • Head out on a sightseeing tour of the multicultural communities of Montreal with a local guide to discover, Little Portugal, Little Italy, Chinatown, the Mile-End and more!
  • Partake in a Spanish-inspired cooking workshop and enjoy the fruits of your labor afterwards.
  • Strike a pose atop Montreal’s iconic Mont-Royal for the very best view of the metropolis.
  • Feast and dance the evening away during your authentic French Canadian sugar shack experience.

Day 6

  • Stroll through the grounds of McGill University's prestigious downtown campus. If you're lucky, you may even stumble upon a practice of the McGill Quidditch team!
  • Discover how Montrealers brave the cold winter months as you visit the Underground City, a network of malls, museums and restaurants.
  • Learn the steps to becoming a true improv champ during a fun interactive improvisation workshop.
  • Explore the hip Plateau Mont-Royal's vintage clothing stores, record shops and quaint cafés, or stop by l'Española or la Librairie Gallimard for some authentic souvenirs.
  • Witness the emotion and passion of the Andalusian art of Flamenco as local dancers and musicians take over the floor at tonight's dinner.

Day 7

  • Travel through the ecosystems of the Americas as you visit Montreal's newly renovated Biodome, followed by a tour of the Olympic Stadium, host to the 1976 Summer Olympics.
  • Take in the sights and sounds of the Marché Jean-Talon, Montreal’s busiest - and most delicious - outdoor market, as you partake in our Grocery Scavenger Hunt in French or in Spanish!
